About

Shreyaa Patodia is a Visual Artist based in Jaipur, Rajasthan (India). She did her graduation (B.V.A) and post-graduation (M.V.A) from the IIS University, Jaipur. Her interest in art grew strong before she realizes it.  Shreyaa mainly works with mixed media and experiments with different mediums creating various textures and patterns in painting. The usage of textures along with various mediums like Black Japan and Mineral Colors is the signature style that attracts. Her process of painting includes the application of one medium over another creating many layers in a single artwork. She uses textures to create a visual aesthetic to convey her experiences and thoughts.

Her paintings explore the stories and characters from Indian mythology, folklore, and epics. Apart from that her artworks are inspired by her travel experiences. Her paintings have been exhibited at many reputed art galleries in India like, such as The Art Society of India, The Bombay Art Society, Rajasthan Lalit Kala Academy, Artscapes, Jawahar Kala Kendra, etc. and her works are also in the collections of private collectors.

For Shreyaa art is freedom, it is a way of living. She says, “when you are involved in the process of creation you are free to express yourself without any judgment. You can put your thoughts out there without any filter. It takes you to new horizons of self-exploration and admiration. Art is an escape from all the conflicts going on inside you and outside. In the creative process, you just forget everything around you and indulge yourself deeply so that nothing bothers you for the moment and that is addictive.”

Shreyaa believes that art is not only pleasing to the eyes, but it is also soothing to the soul as well.  It encourages people to accept things the way they are and to look behind their physical appearance. She feels that you don’t need to be a scholar or an artist to experience art in your day-to-day life, all you have to do is just be present at the moment and look around. When you do so you will always find something new, something to admire about everything around you.
